NVizcaya LGU gives scholarship grant to 10 studes
Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (15 June) -- At least 10 students recently received a scholarship package from the provincial government here in line with its thrust to help poor but deserving youths with quality college education.
The recipients of the scholarship program were Miriam Castro, Aiza Benosa, Arlyn Fianza, Monaliza Anas and Joyce Sabado of Bambang town, Susan Minas of Ambaguio town, Don Jeffrey Garcia of Solano town, Mary Ann Tanguilig of Dupax del Norte, Gerald Umahoc of Bayombong town and Irma Atenao of Kasibu town.
Board member Edgardo 'Edu' Balgos said the scholars were already accepted to the Community Health Work Program or midwifery department of the University of the Philippines Manila School of Health Sciences Extension Campus in Baler, Aurora.
The scholars were given an initial amount of P5,000.00 each from Rep. Carlos Padilla and another P5,000.00 each from the provincial government during the flag raising ceremony today at the provincial capitol grounds.
Under the program, the scholars will be given regular allowance from the provincial government through its Special Education Fund (SEF).
Balgos said the scholars will be completing their course and return back to their communities to serve after their graduation. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
