Roxas City (16 June) -- The Capiz Federation of Tindahan Nation (TN) Operators Association, Inc. has pledged to support the National Food Authority (NFA) rice distribution program to ensure the availability of affordable quality rice among Capiceños.
The group headed by its President Mrs. Catalina Leonor has assured the NFA top provincial officials of assistance in its program during the association's recent quarterly meeting.
NFA Capiz Public Information Officer Edna A. Artates said that appropriate actions, clarifications and recommendations on various issues and concerns like increase of weekly rice allocation, specimen signature of TN beneficiaries and their dependent, NFA rules and regulations, and the accomplishment of Rice Allocation Ledger were given during the meeting.
The officers of the association were also informed about the NFA's "One Strike Policy" for TN and other NFA-related violations.
"This means that a violation means outright suspension," said NFA Capiz new Provincial Manager Procopio B. Trabajo II.
He added that TN operators can sit down with NFA concerned personnel to discuss problems and possible solutions to avoid apprehensions and suspension as he warned that monitoring teams are fielded out to ensure that overpricing and diversion of government rice will not happen.
NFA records show that there are about 180 TN and 10 TN sa Parokya operational outlets provincewide.
TN is part of President Gloria Macapagal – Arroyo's Poverty Alleviation Program that ensures low-priced government rice even in remotest and depressed areas nationwide. (NFA/PIA) [top]
