DSWD launches Moral Renewal Action Plan
Davao City (17 June) -- "This launch signals the strengthening of the moral fiber of DSWD officials and employees." Deputy Ombudsman for Mindanao Humphrey T. Monteroso declared in his Inspirational Message at the launch of DSWD Moral Renewal Action Plan held Monday at DSWD Conference Hall.
Monteroso also served as resource person who discussed the Common Crimes Committed by Public Officials, Anti- Graft and Corrupt Practices, Whistle Blowing and Functions of the Office of the Ombudsman. Monteroso likewise led DSWD Senior Officials in reciting the Pledge of Commitment to Adopt and Implement the Moral Renewal Action Plan.
Other invited speakers for the two-day event were Lourdes P. Amerkhan and Atty. Norma R. Gordo of the Civil Service Commision, and Dr. Ronnie Amorado of EHEM Project. They talked about the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007, Code of Conduct and Ethical Behavior of Public Officials, and Moral Renewal and Integrity Building.
In time for the launch, DSWD gave recognition to six employees cited as Character Awardees from January to June 2009. Each of them posted their photos on the Character Tree and each received an Awards Certificate. (DSWD/degsduron-PIA XI) [top]
