MIGEDC gets computers, printers
Iloilo City (19 June) -- The Metro Iloilo-Guimaras Economic Development Council (MIGEDC) recently received 7 desktop computers and printers under the Capacity Enhancement Program of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Project on Multi Stakeholder Transport Planning and Traffic Management Improvement in Metro-Iloilo Guimaras (MTMI-MIG).
The donation was concretized with the signing of the hand-over note between JICA Experts' Team Leader Mr. Akio Namura and MIGEDC Assistant Executive Director Ma. Cristina Octavio during the MIGEDC-JICA Joint Coordination Committee meeting held in this city, June 18.
In turn, the MIGEDC handed-over to local executives of the 7 MIGEDC municipalities the computers and printers. These municipalities are Iloilo City, Guimaras, Leganes, Pavia, Sta. Barbara, San Miguel and Oton.
Local executives who personally received their equipment were Mayor Gregorio Villarico of San Miguel, Isabelo Maquino of Sta. Barbara, Mayor Arcadio Gorriceta of Pavia and Vincent Flores of Oton. Community Environment and Natural Resources Officer Engr. Noel Hechanova received the equipment for Iloilo City.
The equipment are intended for the use of the members of the MIGEDC-JICA Technical Working Group in the respective MIGEDC LGUs to support the implementation of its plans and programs.
Nakamura also presented during the meeting the project performance profile of the MTMI-MIG that aims to capacitate the Local government Technical Working Groups (TWGs) through series of technical seminar-workshops and on-the-job trainings and social experimentation so that they will be able to formulate their respective transport and traffic management plan.
