Tagalog News: PGMA mainit na tinangggap ng Japanese Royal Family

Manila (19 June) -- Mainit na tinanggap ni Japanese Emperor Akihito at Empress Michiko ang Pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo sa Imperial Palace ng bumisita ito sa Tokyo, Japan. Ito umano ang pang-pitong pagbisita ng Pangulo sa Japanese Imperial Palace at Royal Family mula pa noong 1962 ng maging Pangulo ng Pilipinas ang kanyang namayapang ama.

Pinasalamatan naman ng Pangulong Arroyo ang Royal Family dahil sa mainit na pagtanggap pati na rin sa pagtanggap ng bansa sa mahigit 220,000 na Pilipinong nagta-trabaho sa Japan tulad ng nurses, caregivers at seafarers.

Ang relasyon ng Pilipinas at Japan ay lalo pang naging matibay sa paglipas ng panahon na nagsimula noong magtapos ang Pacific War.

Ang bansang Japan ay ang pangawalang pinakamalaking trading partner ng Pilipinas, pangunahing export market para sa mga goods, isa sa pinakamalaking source ng foreign investments at mga turista. Isa rin ang Japan sa pinakamalaking source ng official development assistance (ODA) ng Pilipinas.

Host naman ang Pilipinas ng maraming malalaking Japanese investment at mahigit 20,000 Japanese nationals ang nakatira sa bansa. (Lgtomas/PIA 12) [top]
