PNVSCA observes National Volunteer Month
Cagayan de Oro City (19 June) -- THE Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) is inviting agencies and organizations to participate in the celebration of the National Volunteer Month (NVM) in December 2009.
The activities may include organizing more volunteerism activities, conduct of advocacy through media and other promotional events and putting up of NVM streamers in strategic locations.
The National Volunteer Month is observed to build nationwide public awareness and appreciation of volunteerism and its role in national development, create the environment for encouraging voluntary action and recognize volunteers and their contributions to society.
This year's highlight of the NVM celebration is the 2009 Search for Outstanding Volunteers. The search is categorized in two: a) Individual, and b) Group and tagged as the National Outstanding Volunteer Award and Volunteer Lifetime Achievement Award.
For years now, Region X has been a consistent recipient of many NVM awards.
To sustain and uphold the same honor and fame, the NVM Regional Search Committee would like to invite qualified applicant/s to this Search.
Nomination forms are available at the National Economic and Development Authority Region X Office. Deadline of submission of applications/nominations to the NVM Regional Search Committee is on or before July 31, 2009. Awarding of NVM winners will be in December 2009 in Manila.
Please send your application/nomination address to: The Chair, NVM Regional Search Committee, National Economic and Development Authority-Region X, Regional Development Council Bldg., Capistrano-Echem Street, Cagayan de Oro City.
