by Vency D. Bulayungan

Kiangan, Ifugao (20 June) -- The local officials here and the Philippine National Police family led by PCSUPT Orlando Pestano, Regional Director of PNP Cordillera recently inaugurated the third police service center in the busiest intersection in the province.

As a way of preventing the occurrence crimes in the province, the center is strategically constructed in Sitio Ibulao in Barangay Baguinge here where all roads leading to Lagawe and other major towns meet.

Pestano opined that the presence of this structure will help deter crimes and men in uniform will be able to deliver peace and order to the majority of the constituents here.

Despite the bad weather, Pestano took the opportunity to thank all the stakeholders who contributed in the realization of this project. PSSUPT Joseph Adnol said that the materials used in the construction of this structure were donated by civilians and the labor was done by the policemen.

"This building is made out of love because both the civilians and men in uniform offered their labor of love to make this dream come true, there was no expense coming from the government," Pestano said.

Governor Teddy Baguilat also that this structure will not only be used as maintaining peace and order but it will help tourists as well and help in the collection of revenues in the quarry area of the Ibulao River. He also hailed the people who were behind the success of this project especially the community who donated construction materials.

Baguilat enjoined the host barangay and the municipal government here to help in sustaining the building and in obtaining the objective of this project which Mayor Jonathan Cuyahon affirmed. "There will be no development without peace and order," he said. (PIA-Ifugao) [top]
