55 TESDA scholars graduate from new training center in Tuao

Tuao, Cagayan (22 June) -- Some 55 scholars have successfully graduated as pioneer of the new Itawes Skills Training Center here.

The 55 graduates are all scholars, under Cong. Manuel Mamba's scholarship grants.

Dir. Belinda Labutong, Provincial Director-TESDA Cagayan, conferred the candidates after passing the required training skills of the students.

Labutong said the students have undergone 2 months of training in Housekeeping NC II, Food and Beverage NC II, and Household Services NC II courses.

Regional Director Felisa Carag of TESDA Region 2, commended the Local Government Officials of Tuao, Cagayan for putting up a skills training institution, the first LGU initiative training center in the country.

Carag said the Itawes Skills Training Center is TESDA Accredited so TESDA and the employers recognize the certificates of completion being given to the graduate.

"I commend the initiative if LGU-Tuao because it is not easy to convince LGU's to go into Technical Vocational Education and Training," Carag said.

Carag further stated that they would be partners with LGU-Tuao to make ISTC a quality education center in terms of skills training.

Cong. Manuel Mamba, 3rd of Cagayan, said the training center is put up to help unemployed to obtain skills training which is needed and a requirement in going abroad.

Mamba also invited recruitment agencies to help the newly graduates to look for opportunities abroad based on skills they garnered from ITSC. (Ver/PIA 2) [top]
