NAPC provides P1-M for CLEEP monitoring and evaluation

Tuguegarao City (22 June) -- To support the effective and efficient implementation of the Comprehensive Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (CLEEP), the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) has embarked the provision of funds to strengthen institutional arrangement of the project's monitoring and evaluation.

NAPC has tapped the Regional Kalahi Committee (RKC) as the convergence group to entail greater field monitoring and intensify coordination, evaluation and documentation of any development of the program.

The NAPC has provided P1 Million to the RKC, through the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) regional office as the secretariat of the committee.

It is specified in the memorandum of NAPC Sec. Domingo Panganiban that the funds shall be utilized for the generation of regular monitoring reports, enable immediate response to identified opportunities and threats, identify and document early development lessons learned in the implementation of the CLEEP.

It is also specified that the committee must accomplish the expected outputs such as the forging of 16 Memoranda of Agreements between NEDA and NAOPC for the provision of support to RKCG operations related to CLEEP that will seal a firm institutional arrangement for monitoring.

It is also expected that the group must conduct quarterly monitoring reports, submission of quarterly validated regional project reports, submission of measures to enhance program implementation and case studies on the area based on preliminary impact.

In this effect, the secretariat will have a first hand look on the implementation of CLEEP and enable it to recommend and institute immediate measures to either sustain the positive or correct the negative developments in a feasible and timely manner. (Ver/PIA 2) [top]
