6 Gawad Saka entries of Cagayan make it to national
Tuguegarao City (22 June) -- Cagayan province as a booming agricultural area in Region 2 has produced outstanding farmers and fisher folks to the national level of Gawad Saka Awards.
Of the 17 categories, 9 were adjudged in the regional level and 6 of which were adjudged as national finalists for this year.
For the group category, the awardees are the Sto. Domingo MPC in Centro, Baggao, Cagayan for Outstanding Small Farmer organization; Hilltop 4-H club of Sta. Clara, Gonzaga, Cagayan as the Outstanding Young Farmer organization; San Lorenzo RIC of Lallo, Cagayan as Outstanding Rural Improvement Club; MAFC Sanchez Mira as Outstanding Municipal Agricultural and Fishery Council.
For the individual awards, Mr. Rosendo C. Buncad of Piat, Cagayan was adjudged as Outstanding Sugarcane Farmer, and the Lighthouse Cooperative of Tuguegarao City was the Outstanding Agri-Entrepreneur.
In recognition to the exemplary performance of the awardees, the Provincial Government of Cagayan will give commendation for their contribution in the field of agriculture.
The awarding ceremony will be spearheaded by the Provincial Agriculture Office on the 426th Aggao Nac Cagayan celebration at the Cagayan Sports Complex. (Ver/PIA 2) [top]
