DENR, IBP sign tree planting MOA
Bacolod City (25 June) -- The Community Environment and Natural Resource Office (CENRO)- Bacolod City and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines recently joined hands in the greening of Negros Occ. and Bacolod City as the two entities seal their partnership by signing a Memorandum of Agreement in a tree planting project.
CENR Officer Engr. Joan Nathaniel Gerangaya and Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Pres. Lawyer Ivan Nemenzo with Lawyer Paulyn Nuega, also of IBP, PENR Officer Jesse Vego and Forestry Sector Chief Arthur Tubera signed the MOA recently at the CENRO office.
According to the MOA, the IBP will initiate tree planting activities and the CENRO will provide the seedlings.
Nuega said the first activity will be held on June 27 at the Bacolod City Water Shed Reserve at Brgy. Alangilan where hundreds of Molave species will be planted by more than 50 participants.
The IBP will be supported by the Power Foundation and other institutions in the city.
The IBP is one among the prestigious organizations in the country that expressed interest in environmental preservation by linking with the government in greening endeavors.
