Ifugao conducts Pabasa sa Nutrition training to mitigate hunger

Lagawe, Ifugao (26 June) -- In support to the Philippine Plan of Action on Nutrition, the provincial government in partnership with the European Countries conducted a training on June 25 to 26, 2009.
Dubbed as Pabasa sa Nutrisyon, the training is focused on Nutrition Information Education as one of its major program components.
"This serves as a continuing education and human resource development to our nutrition workers to become more efficient," said Governor Teddy Baguilat Jr. He added that the training will help the workers to be effective in the delivery of basic services which contributes toward the achievement of the Accelerated Hunger Mitigation Program.
Participated by members of the Provincial Nutrition Council, Baguilat further said that training like this will conducted at the barangays in order to ensure the proper implementation of the said program to the grassroot level.
Moreover, Department of Education Division Superintendent Estela Carino said that there is a need to strengthen the nutrition program in the schools. We appreciate the assistance given by other agencies in order to attain this objective, Carino said. (PIA-Ifugao) [top]
