Aksyon Mindanaw holds relief drive

Davao City (1 October) -- Aksyon Mindanaw (AM), a conglomeration composed of a new breed of leaders of non-government organizations (NGO's) and people's organizations (PO's) for Mindanao, is holding a relief drive by gathering relief goods in the different barangays of Davao City thru AM's barangay coordinators.

The goods will be sent to Aksyon Mindanaw-Manila chapter currently continuing relief operations in the highly disaster affected areas of the National Capital Region and some parts of Luzon. This endeavour is in partnership with the Rotary Club of Manila.

The recent disaster that struck the entire Metro Manila and some parts of Luzon, stunned the entire country. The amount of rainfall in which according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geographical & Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) was equivalent to one month of rainfall, has broke records and was absolutely beyond normal.

On some view, it can be attributed to our lack of concern for the Environment. Aksyon Mindanaw's battle cry of Green Mindanao and for the entire country, signifies the group's genuine concern for Environmental protection. But, this is not the time to blame anyone, instead this a time that we Filipinos must show our bayanihan spirit.

A virtue that we posses as a symbol of love and compassion that we will never leave our fellows in times of crisis like this For more details, you can contact us at telephone #304-0714 or email us at www.aksyonmindanao.com or visit our main office at Door 106, Goldwin Building, Quirino Avenue, Davao City.
