DTI Negros Occidental leads NERBAC forum
Bacolod City (2 October) -- The Department of Trade and Industry leads other line agencies namely: SSS, PhilHealth, BIR, Pag-IBIG and the local governments of Bacolod and Negros Occidental the forum on National Economic Research Business Assistance Center (NERBAC).
NERBAC aims to provide prospective entrepreneurs or investors with the basic information on various business option and act as a one-stop-action center which will facilitate the processing and documentation of all paper requirements necessary for the establishment of a business enterprise in the country.
Bacolod City Administrator Dr. Rogelio Balo, representing Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia welcome the move to create NERBAC which according to him, the program is geared to enhance the development of the business and economic situation in the country.
Provincial Consultant on Community Development and Special Projects Nestor Bayona who also represents Governor Isidro Zayco in the forum lauded the efforts of DTI and other line agencies saying it is the best thing to happen to the province.
NERBAC for its components include investment promotion, knowledge management and licensing or registration.
"It (NERBAC) does not only reduce the number of steps or cut processing time but will reduce the cost for entrepreneurs since they don't have to go from one office to another," Abad said.
Line agencies will instead have a representative housed in one center where processing can happen thus will hasten processing time. (PIA/EAD) [top]
