Unidentified assailants fatally shoot brother of North Samar governor
Tacloban City (October 4) -- Manolo Daza, the younger brother of Northern Samar Governor Raul Daza, was fatally shot by unidentified assailants at about 5:30 in the afternoon, inside the cockpit area of Rosario, Northern Samar.
This sketchy report was sent in by PIA Northern Samar and was confirmed by Philippine National Police Region 8 Director Mario San Diego who said he received the report from the PNP Northern Samar.
Director San Diego who was at the Induction Rites of the PNP Press Corps on Friday evening, said that initial reports showed that there were four assailants who fled on foot to the mountainous area of Rosario.
Director San Diego has ordered the PNP Northern Samar to fast track the investigation of the case.
He that laments this latest killing about 27 days after the killing in San Jose, Northern Samar, of Fr. Cecilio Lucero, brother of Northern Samar Vice Governor Antonio Lucero and former Northern Samar Second District Congressman Wilmar Lucero.
The site of the killing of the brother of Governor Daza, Rosario town is adjacent to San Jose where Fr. Lucero was ambushed.

Rosario is a 5th class municipality of Northern Samar which is known for its crab fattening business enterprise.
