Pag-IBIG extends penalty exemption to delinquent employers
Dipolog City (6 October) -- The Pag-IBIG Fund recently called upon all employers to remit all mandated membership contributions of their employees and their own counterpart to its office on or before December 31, 2009 without paying any penalty.
RA 9679 also known as the new Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) law of 2009 extends the condonation of penalty to delinquent employers, unregistered, have been denied registration but not yet started registration and those who have earlier applied for waiver from fund coverage.
However, if the employers find it impossible to pay the entire amount due to the office Pag-IBIG Fund is offering a 24-month plan in which the employers are given a chance not to pay the penalty provided they abide with the prescribed guidelines.
It has been stressed that the membership of an employee shall start on the date of the employee’s initial Pag-IBIG Fund receipt. But those members with previous deductions but were not remitted, effectivity of membership shall be on the date that actual remittance could have been made.
The penalties, however, shall be exacted upon the employers if they violated the approved plan of payment either by default or short remittance.
All eligible employers can send their letter request for grant of condonation at Pag-IBIG Fund, Zamboanga Branch Office, San Jose Road, Baliwasan, Zamboanga City. (PF/PIA-ZN) [top]
