Sirawai town eyed as rubber, fruit capital in Zamboanga Peninsula
Dipolog City (6 October) -- The municipality of Sirawai in Zamboanga del Norte has been projected to become the capital of rubber and fruit products in Western Mindnao a few years from now.
Engr. Ulysess Kho, manager of Sirawai Plywood and Lumber Company (SPLC) disclosed that they had targeted to develop 500 hectares each year for rubber and fruit plantation.
With this, the company is expected to hire more workers for its rubber and fruit plantation.
At present, SPLC has 2,000 hectares planted to rubber and another 10,000 hectares planted to durian, mango, mangosteen and other fruits. (PF/PIA-ZN) [top]
