NVizcaya town implements P20M flood control project
Solano, Nueva Vizcaya (October 6) -- The local government unit here is in the process of implementing the more than P20 million flood control project designed to ease the plight of villagers in this commercial town.
The flood control project, implemented by the local government unit through its engineering office, the Department of Public works and Highways(DPWH) and the office of Rep. Carlos Padilla seeks to improve and develop drainage systems and irrigation canals that will prevent flooding and serve as water source for farmers.
"We have already spent P10 million for this and we hope this project will benefit our villagers of our town," said mayor Philip Dacayo.
Dacayo said the flood control project will ease flooding in barangays Poblacion South, Poblacion North, Roxas, Quezon, Quirino and Osmena.
He added that the P1 million Municipal Development Assistance Fund(MDAF) of governor Luisa Cuaresma will be used for infrastructure projects in barangay Roxas amounting to P200,000.00 and the improvement and establishment of a comfort room within the Heroes Memorial Park with P300,000.00.
The remaining P500,000.00 will also be used for the purchase and establishment of street lights from Dupan street to Aratal street. (bme/PIA NVizcaya) [top]
