Philippine Marine corps enlistment is on

Cagayan de Oro City (8 October) -- Want to be a member of the Philippine Marine Corps? Now is your chance.

The Philippine Marine Corps Mobile Recruitment Team headed by Capt. Prisco T. Tabo Jr. is now accepting prospective officer / candidate soldier applicants from Cagayan de Oro City and nearby areas who may be qualified to take up the physical and medical examination (Armed Forces of the Philippines [AFP] Aptitude Test Battery) on October 24, 2009.

With no registration fee, all interested applicants may apply in person at the Philippine Marine Corps Mobile Recruitment Team Office at Camp Evangelista, 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army in Patag, Cagayan de Oro City.

Qualifications for a candidate soldier are as follow: single, Filipino citizen, 18 to 23 years old (male and female), at least 5'4" in height for male and 5'2" for female, high school graduate with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) technical / vocational skills or with 72 units in college.

A candidate officer applicant must be single, Filipino citizen, 21 to 28 years old (male or female), at least 5'4" in height for male and 5'2" for female and a baccalaureate degree holder.

Initial documentary requirements for the applicants (candidate soldier and officer) include birth certificate from National Statistics Office (NSO), transcript of records, college diploma or certificate of completion from TESDA (vocational/technical course) and 4 pieces 2x2 colored picture with white background.

Every lucky candidate soldier shall receive a basic pay and other allowances of P11,988.00 upon take oath and while still on training, while those qualified for training as an officer gets P23,290.30 basic pay.
