Cagayan de Oro City (8 October) -- All city and municipal government units have been directed to conduct an inventory of all lands and improvements within their respective localities by the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC).
This directive is issued to comply with and review the implementation of Sec. 7 of Republic Act 7279, otherwise known as the "Urban Development and Housing Act, Grace Seres B. Saniel, HUDCC Regional Coordinator for region 10, said.
Saniel said HUDCC is also doing parallel efforts in securing the inventory of the properties of government agencies, their attached units, government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCC) and their subsidiaries, which are suitable for socialized housing.
"We are actually doing this to assist agencies of government in addressing the housing requirements of their employees pursuant to Administrative Order No. 80 issued by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on August 11, 2009," she said.
Meanwhile, Saniel said this particular directive also asks all the government agencies and its entities to submit a list of all idle properties, e.g. lands and buildings under their offices which have not been used for the purpose they have been reserved for in the past 10 years. (PIA 10) [top]
