TESDA puts up "blue-desk" job bridging services

Siquijor (8 October) -- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in cooperation with the Lazi National Agricultural School (LNAS) recently established a BLUE-DESK Job Bridging (BJB) Services office.

According to TESDA Ofgficer Patrico Padayhag, BJB has two major components namely: Blue-Desk which is a mini-employment facilitationoffice which provides services such as Labor Market (local and abroad), emergency employment including On the Job Training and Apprenticeship and Referral for Business Development Support for self-employment; and the "Job's Bridging", a major employment facilitation event to assist the TVET graduates.

He said BJB will also be put up in all municipalities of the province to provide easy access to all job seekers and TVET graduates.

Meanwhile, an orientation program for all muinicipal CTECs of the province including two TVET institutions like the Siquijor State College and the Quezon Memorial Institute of Siquijor will be conducted for the proper implementation and operation of the BJB services.

A Memorandum of Agreement was made and entered into by and among the TESDA VII, DOLE VII and POEA, RCV for the effective implementation of the program. (PIA) [top]
