Escalante City holds groundbreaking for P100-M coliseum
Escalante City (9 October) -- One of the fastest growing cities in northern Negros, Escalante recently held its groundbreaking for its P100-million coliseum.
Dubbed as "The Big Square", the Escalante City Coliseum will sit on a 3,079.84 square meter-area in Brgy. Hacienda Fe will serve as the home of sports and cultural activities of the city.
The Big Square is a three-level, single-storey edifice which will entail a two-phase construction by Dynamic Builders Incorporated.
The building will be equipped with a Basketball Court which can be used for different kind of activities, a stage for cultural programs complete with backstage and locker rooms, toilets and dressing areas and other supporting facilities. The bleachers can seat 4,500 to 5,000 persons. Spaces for rent to concessionaires will also be available.
Escalante Mayor Melecio Yap hopes nothing but the best for Escalante as the city's economic activities is increasing.
This latest venture in the city is in addition to the several infrastructure projects like new bus terminal in Brgy. Jonobjonob and the lagoon which is being constructed fronting the city hall. (Escalante/PIA/EAD) [top]
