News Roundup: PGMA keynotes CREBA convention

Cagayan de Oro City (9 October) -- In her keynote Speech, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo calls on the Chamber of Real Estate and Builders Association (CREBA) to help the government make the Philippines one of the most favored tourist destinations in the region, during the three-day 24th National Convention of the CREBA at the Grand Caprice, Limketkai center, Cagayan de Oro City.

The President added that the Philippines is poised to ride the wave of the impending global economic rebound and that the real estate sector can capture once again the opportunities that await the sector.

CREBA is the country's largest organization of real estate brokers, developers, professionals and suppliers. The convention's theme is "Pinoy Economic Stimuli in a Global Recession: Mass Housing and World Class-Tourism." With Pres. Arroyo are: (sitting L-R) Edward V. Lanao del Norte emerges winner in Dalit Festival

The province of Lanao del Norte bags the first prize for the Ritual Presentation in Invitation category during the Dalit Festival, a dance presentation offered to St. Michael the Archangel for the blessings that Tangubanons received during the year, held at Tangub City Sports Complex. This year's Dalit was participated in by different barangay clusters and neighboring towns and cities. Other winners were: Oroquieta City (2nd Prize); Municipality of Don Victoriano (3rd Prize); and Ozamiz City (4th Prize). (Tangub City / CIO, i-net)

NMSC tops Dalit Festival

Northwestern Mindanao State College (NMSC), representing cluster 7, wins the 1st Prize for Barangay Category during the Dalit Festival held at Tangub City Sports Complex. Followed by Cluster 11 (Sumirap National High School), 3rd Prize to Cluster 1 (Tangub City National High School), 4th Prize to Cluster 6 (Gov. Alfonso D. Tan College) and 5th Prize to Cluster 9 (Lorenzo Tan National High School). (Tangub City / CIO, i-net)

Miss Tangub

Tangub City proclaims Julelyn Montemayores, of Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (NMSC), as Miss Tangub City Tourism 2009. She was also awarded Best in Evening Gown, Best in Mindanaoan Attire, and Best in Swim Wear Playsuit Attire. (Tangub City / CIO, i-net)
