PNP Ifugao says good community relationship keeps province economically stable

by Vency D. Bulayungan

Lagawe, Ifugao (10 September) -- The police force here believes that good relationship between men in uniform and communities contributes to the economic upliftment of the people.

Police Chief Inspector Joe Baday, the Intelligence Officer here said that developing and improving socio-economic status of the province and the intensified police operations being undertaken by the PNP here has greatly contributed to the achievement of a more peaceful province.

Baday also noted that comparing Ifugao to the other provinces where he was assigned before, the good relationship between the people and the policemen is one of the reasons why the province is peaceful.

He believes that the peaceful situation in the province is a key to development. He said that the economy of the municipalities here can be attributed to the peaceful environment.

Baday said that from July to October, about 127 Most Wanted Persons were arrested and most of the arrests were successful due to the cooperation of the people here.

With the upcoming national and local elections, Baday said that the province remains at its best political tranquility. "Basing on the previous elections, there are no probable election hot spot here," Baday said.

"The peaceful situation here can be attributed to the growing awareness and participation of the citizenry and close coordination with other line government agencies, Local Government Units (LGUs) and Non Government Organizations (NGOs)," Baday said. (PIA-Ifugao) [top]
