Bulacan joins "Likha ng Central Luzon" fair at SM Megamall

City of Malolos (13 October) -- On its 11th year, Likha ng Central Luzon Trade Fair has proven its role as an effective vehicle in promoting products of the region to institutional buyers and exporters based in Metro Manila.

This event was able to generate at least P30 million in sales, with Jam's Bags from Bulacan ranking third in terms of percentage share of cash and booked sales, next to two small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from Nueva Ecija.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 3 Director Blesila Lantayona said this year's theme "Central Luzon, yaman ng rehiyon" is an apt description of the special place of the region in the economy and society.

Bulacan's specialized garments were featured in the said event along with other six model provinces of One Town One Product (OTOP) program like sabutan hats and bags from Aurora; processed fish from Bataan, footwear from Nueva Ecija, lanterns from Pampanga, crocheted products from Tarlac and sweet potato from Zambales.

Apart from OTOP, the said trade fair also showcased 37 SMEs from Bulacan including entrepreneurs involved in the processed food, furniture, gifts and holiday décor and wearable.

The fair opened on September 30 at the Megatrade Hall 2 of SM Megamall and culminated on October 4.

This trade promotion activity was sponsored by DTI Region 3, Philexport 3 and the Regional Development Council. (PPAO thru PIA Bulacan) [top]
