Gov to award outstanding Oriental Negrenses

Dumaguete City (14 October) -- Two finalists for outstanding Oriental Negrense will be awarded on October 25, 2009 Sunday to culminate the two week-long celebration of Buglasan Festival.
The prestigious annual award will honor Dr. Juvenal Tiago-Jabel and Julio Ong-Sy Jr. as among the awardees engaged in the fields of health and allied services and business and finance, respectively.
Dr. Jabel, 67, of Calagcalag, Ayungon is a practicing doctor in Santanta, Kansas, USA but has provided livelihood employment to some of the people of Negros Oriental as he owns a factory in animal and poultry feeds, rice seed grower and a hotel and restaurant in Dumaguete City.
True to his profession, Dr Jabel joins medical-surgical mission in the Philippines.
For Julio Sy, professional excellence saturates the multiple business enterprises based in Negros Oriental have provided investments in sugar, coconut, shipping, hotel, banking and finance. These businesses provide not only for the province’s earning but also employment in the community.
