Oro workers to get 50% year-end bonus
Cagayan de Oro City (14 October) -- Rank and file employees of the City Government of Cagayan de Oro could expect a cash windfall within this month.
This developed after City Mayor Constantino "Tinnex" Jaraula issued Memorandum No. CGJ2009 – 301 authorizing City Accountant Wilma Rugay, City Treasurer's Office Officer-In-Charge (OIC) Dixon Baconga, City Budget Office Officer-In-Charge (OIC) Cynthia Sypiecco and Secretary to the City Mayor Rogelio Jaraula Jr. to start processing of payrolls for the remaining 50% Year-End Bonus due to City Hall workers on October 19, 2009 and releasing the same on or before October 30, 2009.
Aside from the Year-End Bonus, Mayor Jaraula also ordered the concerned department heads to begin processing payrolls for the 50% Cash Gifts on December 15, 2009.
Local government officials and employees have already received last May their 50% Year-End Bonus, which is equivalent to one-half of an employee's monthly basic salary, and the P2,500 or half of the P5,000 Cash Gift in order to help them cope with the expected expenses for enrolment of their children.
With the expected release of the 50% Year-End Bonus before October ends, City Hall employees could heave a sigh of relief to look for money intended for the enrolment of their children studying in college during the second semester opening of classes. (CIO-CdeO) [top]
