Lanao Norte launches photo exhibit

by Breezy C. Jimenez

Tubod, Lanao del Norte (14 October) -- Under the theme "50th Araw ng Lanao del Norte: Amazing Celebrations," the Provincial Information Office (PIO), held its first photo exhibit on October 9 at the Provincial Capitol's lobby, this town.

"In these pictures, you see Christians performing the Muslim dance in the Sagayan Festival and Muslims mingled with the latter competing in contemporary contests and joining in the various events highlighting the 50th Araw ng Lanao del Norte. These are proofs that despite the numerous differences we may have culturally, we strive to preserve each other's traditions and customs for the next generations to come," Information Officer Vincent N. Labial quipped.

Provincial Administrator Joselito E. Quibranza added that indeed the pictures depict the unity and cooperation shown during the golden celebration despite the cultural difference that prevails in the province.

Quibranza averred that the photographs captured the uniqueness of Lanao del Norte with its colorful historical background as shown by the municipal and Sagayan festivals.

Both employees and visitors appreciated the exhibit which detailed the activities during the Golden Anniversary from day one during the Environment Day up to the Culmination Day on July 4.

The cutting of the ribbon was led by Board Member Robert O. Matalines, Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Jonathan M. Puno, Provincial Administrator Joselito E. Quibranza, Tourism Officer Minda Regis, Nature's Spring District Sales Supervisor Jeffrey Zaldivar and Vincent N. Labial.

The pictures and images exhibited are captured by Mr. Noel U. Curay, the official photographer and videographer of the Provincial Capitol. (PIO-Lanao del Norte) [top]
