Three LGUs in Siquijor adopt simplified business registration

Province of Siquijor (15 October) -- The Department of Trade and Industry Siquijor Provincial Office spearheaded the streamlining of the Business Permit and Licensing System (BPLS) of the Local Government Units (LGUs).

This aims to improve the business climate in order to generate more revenues among LGUs by simplifying the process flow & reducing the requirements in getting business permits at the level of the local governments.

Three (3) LGUs has streamlined their Business Permit and Licensing System namely: LGUs -Siquijor, Larena and San Juan. Representatives were sent to attend the Phase I and II workshop, a 5 day-Seminar workshop on Business Permit and Licensing System in Dumaguete City. Mayor Richard C. Quezon of LGU-Siquijor, Mayor Gold L. Calibo of LGU Larena and Mayor Edwin M. Quimno of LGU San Juan issued an Executive Order creating the BPLS Task Force, BPLS Technical Working Group and BPLS Inspectorate Team to insure the proper implementation of the program.

The BPLS Team conducted BPLS Benchmarking in the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) of Bayawan City, Dumaguete City and the Municipality of Valencia. (PIA-Siquijor) [top]
