Tagalog News: Climate change tatalakayin ni PGMA sa 15th ASEAN Summit sa Thailand

Manila (15 October) -- Inaasahang tatalakayin ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo ang epekto ng Climate Change sa gaganaping 15th ASEAN Summit mula Oktubre 23 hanggang 25 sa Thailand.

Ayon kay Press Secretary Cerge Remonde, patuloy na ipaglalaban ni Pangulong Arroyo ang isyu ng climate change hindi lamang sa ASEAN kundi sa ibang bahagi ng mundo.

"Rest assured she will continue to champion the issue not only in the ASEAN but the rest of the world," pahayag ni Remonde.

Ang ASEAN Declaration on Climate Change ang isa sa tatlong inaasahang resulta ng summit.

Ang Pangulo mula't sapul, ayon kay Remonde, ay laging tinatalakay ang isyu ng climate change mitigation, dahilan sa ang Pilipinas ay nakararanas ng humigit-kumulang sa dalawampung bagyo bawat taon. (pbc/PIA 12)

Projections ng remittances at dollar reserves ng BSP nagkaroon ng pagbabago.

Muling nagkaroon ng pagbabago sa projections ng remittances at dollar reserves ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) dahilan ng patuloy na paglakas ng inflows sa perang ipinapadala ng mga Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) dito sa bansa.

Ayon kay BSP Governor Amando Tetangco Jr., inaasahang tataas pa ang remittances ng mga OFWs ngayong taon sa apat na porsyento (4%) mula sa $16.4 billion inflows noong 2008.

Tiwala si Tetangco na tataas din ang gross international reserves (GIR) sa $42-43 billion ngayong taon mula sa nauna ng $37.5-38.5 billion projection at $47 billion naman sa taong 2010. (Abbenal/PIA 12) [top]
