Lagawe joins Children's Month celebration

Lagawe, Ifugao (17 October) -- As the nation celebrates Children's Month this October, the local government here heightens efforts to popularize the Lagawe Children's Code emphasizing on the roles of the government, community and parents in promoting and attaining the four rights of children.
With the theme, "Bright Child Proteksyon ng Bata, Pananagutan ng Bansa", Susan Galangi said that the celebration of Children's month is an opportunity for children to show case their skills and talents. Day care day pupils aged 3-4 years old were divided in four clusters to participate in said celebration.
Galangi stressed that this is also an opportunity for the government to remind all parents of their responsibilities towards their children. This is also an opportunity for parents to remind them how precious the children are, she added.
According to Mayor Cesar Cabbigat, the code spells out the four rights of children namely survival rights, developmental rights, protection rights and participation rights.
