Lagawe, Ifugao (17 October) -- The Early Childhood Care and Development Council(ECCDC) in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development(DSWD) and the Local Government Units conducted a review of day care services.
Dubbed A State-of the-Art Review of Day Care Service in the Philippines, a survey Research, Provincial Social Welfare Officer Joyce Niwane said the survey seeks to come up with a comprehensive profile on day care worker supervisors and day care centers in the country and establish a data base system.
Niwane added that the data generated from the survey shall be used as inputs in policy formulation, crafting of legislative agenda, designing focused strategies and in the development of the ECCD 5-year master plan.
There are two main survey instruments: part 1 which is composed of two sections namely, the profile of the Day Care Workers and the profile of the Day Care Centers and part 2 which is the profile of Day care worker supervisors.
In a letter of ECCD Council Chairperson Teresa Oreta, and DSWD Secretary Esperanza Cabral to all day care workers, it said that the output of the survey will form the raw data that will shape the study results.
Both national officials opined that the survey will help the national government craft meaningful program interventions that would benefit day care services in the country. (PIA-Ifugao) [top]
