AFP supports Darul Ifta's activities

Zamboanga City (19 October) -- The Western Mindanao Command under the headship of MGEN MOH'D BENJAMIN D DOLORFINO, AFP supports the congregation of the Darul Ifta in the province of Sulu that will convene on 22 to 25 October 2009.

Lt Colonel Gamal S Hayudini PAF, Group Commander of the 4th Civil Relations Group, Civil Relations Service, AFP said that gathering of the religious leaders aim to promote peace in the province as peace caravan and prayer for peace will be among the activities to be conducted initiated by the religious group of “Tablig”.

The activities of Tablig intend to spread peace in their own ways as this is the best way to achieve the longing peace and progress especially in the province of Sulu.

On the other hand, the military will provide security during the conduct of the religious activities purposely to prevent and protect the religious leaders and participants from any threats or untoward incident that may happen while their activities are on-going.

MGEN Dolofino revealed that aside from the security, on the culmination of the religious gathering, the military will as well provide navy craft to transport hundreds of participants from Jolo, Sulu to Zamboanga City.

The Western Mindanao Command is hopeful that the result of this event will have positive effect in the promotion of peace especially in the war conflict areas. (4CRG, CRSAFP/PIA9-BST) [top]
