Scholarship program launched in Talisay City
Bacolod City (23 October) -- The city government of Talisay City, Negros Occidental launched the “Koleyo sa Baryo” scholarship program, recently.
The Memorandum of Agreement was signed by Talisay Mayor Eric Saratan, and Trisha Agustin Sy, Chief Operating Officer, in behalf of Dr. Suzette Lilian Agustin, president of West Negros University (WNU), with Vice Mayor Neil Lizares and Elmer Bilivar as witnesses.
Saratan, Lizares and city councilors established the scholarship program for the deserving youth who would avail of free tertiary education.
The program offers one-year course on Seafaring, Catering and Stewarding to 80 scholars at WNU.
The city provided buildings in the campuses of two schools in Brgy. Dos Hermanas and Brgy. Concepcion.
Present at the launching were barangay officials, department heads, school heads, scholars, parents, scholarship committee and WNU officials, faculty and staff. (PIA/cad) [top]
