Surallah integrated public terminal generates P1-M revenue
Koronadal City (26 October) -- The Surallah Integrated Public Terminal (SIPT) proved to be an income generating economic enterprise of the municipality with a total income of P1,087,000 January to June 2009 alone.
"For the first semester of the current year, we have already a total collection of more than 1 million pesos," SIPT Acting Manager Edward Barrios said.
But with the aim to give a more comfortable service to the commuters, the said income still is not enough for the construction of a permanent and presentable terminal building and facilities that the people of Surallah can be proud of.
"Since we are collecting terminal/parking fees, we need to improve as well our services here to the people. And it's very basic to establish a permanent and well-built terminal building facilities. Though we need a huge amount to materialize this plan but the good thing is, our Local Government is really making a way for the realization of this project," Barrios explained.
Aside from addressing the traffic congestion, the SIPT also served as a safe traveling station of all passengers in the municipality.
On the other hand, the operation of the municipality widens the economic area of the municipality which opens new business and employment opportunities to the people of Surallah. (USWAG Surallah/PIA 12 aca) [top]
