Davao City (27 October) -- Governor Rodolfo Del Rosario signed the P235-million loan agreement with the Land Bank of the Philippines that is intended to fund the stimulus package of the Provincial Government.
The governor said the bulk of the loan package, or some P231 million will be allotted to 339 various infrastructure projects in all the 223 barangays of Davao del Norte, in pursuit of his No Barangay Left Behind (NoBLe) program.
Such projects include the construction, rehabilitation and/or improvement of various infrastructure projects like roads, bridges, water systems, solar dryers, sea walls, among many physical undertakings.
Under the project NoBLe, each barangay in the province is entitled to a P1-million worth of projects within a three-year period that ends up in 2010.
The balance of P4 million in the loan package is intended for the purchase of four units of vehicles for the mobilization of the Provincial Engineer's Office.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved on its 37th Regular Session Resolution No. 521 giving authority to the governor to enter into the loan agreement with the LBP.
In supporting the measure, Vice Governor Victorio Suaybaguio acknowledged the borrowing is "in compliance with our promise to our constituents that no barangay in Davao del Norte shall be left out." (Noel Baguio/ PGO-ID) [top]
