President Arroyo in CDO for 1st Mindanao Coop Peace Forum on October 29

Cagayan de Oro City (27 October) -- Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is slated to be in the city on Oct. 29 to address for the 1st Mindanao Cooperative Peace Forum at Xavier University- Ateneo de Cagayan Gymnasium.

During the occasion, the President will then receive the Mindanao Cooperative Peace Declaration stressing that "the cooperative movement in Mindanao is declaring affirmatively that it is up to the task of being a vehicle of PEACE, progress and an instrument of social justice."

The declaration will be presented by the chairpersons of the different Regional Cooperative Development Council (RCDC) of Mindanao, namely:

Atty. Isidro Q. Lico, RDCD-10, Carmelina V. Francia, RCDC-11, Rosalino D. Sumile, RCDC-9, Arthur A. Aller, RCDC-12, Francis C. Loque, RCDC-13 and Administrator Sammy G. Ibrahim, Autonomous of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

Meanwhile, the President will take time to witness the conferment of the following: Cooperative Lifetime Achievement Awards to Atty. Mordino R. Cua and Professor Edna E. Aberilla and Posthumous Awards to Marieto Ga and Congressman Guillermo P. Cua.

Special Citation to Soc Anthony M. Del Rosario, ABCA Administrator and P/Supt. Benito Olea Ramos, Training Director of the Philippine Public Safety College, Regional Training School, (PPSC-RTS), region 10.

Likewise, the President will look at the booths where the livelihood products of the different cooperatives will be displayed, Orlando R. Ravanera, Regional Director of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), region 10, said. (PIA 10) [top]
