USWAG Kultura program highlights T'boli music and dance

Koronadal City (28 October) -- USWAG Surallah Program component KULTURA under the Tourism Office of the municipality was able to facilitate the five-day seminar workshop for T-boli Music and Dance. It was participated by 60 children living within Sitio Lipunan of Barangay Tubi-al under the facilitation of the localTourism Office and Community Affairs Unit Office.

The effort of giving optimum assistance to the community, the desire of taming initiative in mapping out possible talents and skills for this Indigenous People's development was given emphasis of the current administration.

The representation of the indigenous people in governance is being generated and practiced by the local government units. In fact the flagship program always givens considerations on issues and concerns that effects the lives and cultural practices of these indigent communities.

The formation of KULTURA program as one of the components of USWAG Surallah Program is designed to set up a cultural identity for the people of Surallah.

The workshop was facilitated by staffs from the Municipal Tourism Office with the participation of our Lembohung Dance and Music Ensemble.

Organizers said that the week-long activity was indeed a resounding success because IP children were provided a venue to express themselves in dancing and singing. (PIA12-Lgt) [top]
