Roxas City (29 October) -- A data presentation will be staged by the Capiz provincial government today, October 29, to highlight its observance of National Statistics Month (NSM) celebration this October.
National Statistics Office (NSO) – Capiz Provincial Statistician Engr. Frankie Dordas said that a closing program that will include the awarding of outstanding statistical exhibits will follow after the presentation.
The statistical exhibit which opened last Oct. 15 at the Provincial Capitol’s ground floor lobby was participated in by five government agencies that put up their relevant statistics in a platform for public viewing and appreciation.
"There will be five presentors who will discuss and share their new programs and data," noted Dordas.
NSO – Capiz head and NSM Secretariat Eriberto Esclamad and Assistant Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Stephen Bediones facilitated the invitation and preparation for the presentation.
Bediones is also the NSM coordinator.
The half-day activity will be attended by Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators and NSM coordinators, among others.
The month-long celebration with the theme "Enhancing Security Sector Statistics for Good Governance, Peace and Sustainable Development" is embodied in Presidential Proclamation No. 647 issued by President Corazon Aquino in 1990.
It aims to promote, enhance and instill nationwide awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society and elicit the cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality and standards of statistics in the country. (PIA) [top]
