Roxas City to hold Alay Lakad next month

Roxas City (29 October) -- Plans are underway for the forthcoming Alay Lakad here in November.
Outgoing Roxas City Alay Lakad, Inc. President Dr. Dante Corros revealed that this year’s walk-for-a cause event is scheduled on November 18 which is already about two months behind than the usual annual celebration every September.
He explained that "what matters is the holding of said activity for the benefit of the out of school youth (OSY), particularly for their education."
Corros said that the Roxas City Alay Lakad this year is over all chaired by the Rotary Club with 954 Panay Radio Communication Inc. (PRCI) as vice chairman.
Accordingly, the Philippine National Police (PNP) spearheads the committee on walk with Colegio dela Purisima Concepcion as vice chair; the Philippine Information Agency with the Kapisanan ng mga Broadcasters sa Pilipinas (KBP) and the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP) chairs and vice chairs the committee of public relations, respectively.
On the other hand, the finance committee is chaired and vice chaired by Rotary Club and 954 PRCI, respectively, while the Capiz National High School and Filamer Christian College will spearhead the committee on program.
The committee on project is handled by the Department of Education and the City Social Welfare and Development Office while the physical arrangement committee will be taken cared of by the Kabalikat Civic Com and Capiz Volunteers Action Team (CVAT) with the City Engineers Office.
The walk-for-a-cause has a theme "Lakad Kabataan, Ituloy ang Kaunlaran."
The newly elected president of said organization this year is Dr. Salvio Llanera from Filamer Christian College, who, together with other officers, will also be inducted after the walk. (PIA) [top]
