Talisay City wins national nutrition award
Bacolod City (29 October) -- Talisay City in Negros Occidental conferred the most coveted Nutrition Honor Award by the National Nutrition Award by the National Nutrition Council for excellent performance and unwavering commitment in nutrition program implementation for its people.
Talisay Mayor Eric Saratan received the award from President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo during the recent 34th National Nutrition Awarding ceremony at PICC, Pasig City.
The award included a plaque and a cash prize of P250,000.
It is given to Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition Awardees that have consistently shown outstanding efforts in nutrition improvement as monitored by a regional nutrition evaluation team from 2003-2005 and by a national evaluation team from 2006-2008.
Delivery of nutrition and related services to more people, a sustained increase in funding for basic services and participative implementation and management of the local nutrition program in the city enabled Talisay to win the National Honor Award. (PIA/cad) [top]
