Tagalog News: DOTC ilulunsad ang "Oplan Kaluluwa 2009"

Manila (29 October) -- Ipapatupad ng Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) sa October 30 hanggang November 3 ang "Oplan Kaluluwa 2009", isang taunang programa ng pamahalaan na naglalayong matulungan ang mga motorista at ang publiko sa kanilang pagtungo sa mga sementeryo para sa pagalala sa mga namayapang mahal sa buhay.

Inihayag ni DOTC Secretary Leandro R. Mendoza na mahigpit na ipapatupad ang mga safety at security measures sa lahat ng mga paliparan, pier, at mga terminal ng bus sa darating na pagselebra sa Undas.

Sinabi ni Mendoza na ang DOTC sa pamamagitan ng Action Center nito na pinangungunahan ni Undersecretary Thompson C. Lantion, at ang Investigation, Security, and Law Enforcement Services (ISLES) na pinangungunahan naman ni Director John R. Castriciones, sa pakikipagtulungan sa Office of Transportation Security (OTS), Philippine National Police (PNP), Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) at iba't ibang Local Government Units (LGUs), ay magtatalaga ng mga tauhan at mobile patrols sa mga estratehikong lugar upang magkaroon ng monitoring at makatulong sa mga pasahero sa mga pier, paliparan, at terminal ng bus.

Para sa road transport, ang DOTC ISLES-Action Center, ang Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) at ang Land Transportation Office (LTO) ay maglalagay ng help desks sa mga terminal ng bus sa kahabaan ng EDSA Kamuning at Ali Mall (Araneta Center) sa Quezon City; Monumento sa Caloocan City; Buendia, Baclaran at Tramo sa Pasay City; Dimasalang/Sampaloc at Doroteo Jose sa Manila; at Alabang at Muntinlupa.

Para naman sa civil aviation, ang DOTC ISLES Action Center kaakibat ang Air Transportation Office (ATO), Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) at ang Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA), ay maglalagay din ng help desks at assistance centers sa mga domestic at international na paliparan.
