Davao Region's finest public cemetery, ready for Undas

Tagum City (30 October) -- Due to its seasonal necessity, public cemeteries in the Philippines are the most neglected social services of our country.

Spare it from the rest; with organized niches and impressive landscape, Tagum's public cemetery, which is situated in Barangay La Filipina, is today's finest public cemetery.

"We give legacy even to the departed, we still care for them even if they now rest in peace," says Mayor Rey T. Uy during the recent ocular inspection of the site.

Fully recommended by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Tagum City is the best destination for study tour on public cemetery management and rehabilitation.

Located in an area of 2.7 hectares and rehabilitated on February 2005, the cemetery is on its final phase of completion. At present, it caters 3,297 tomb niches, 10,146 bone niches, and 414 children tomb.

"We are now set for Undas, we already have full coordination with police, traffic officers, emergency team, barangay tanod, and other officials," assures Mayor Uy. (CROMWELL - CIO Tagum) [top]
