Statistics quiz caps statistics month celebration in Zambo Norte
Dipolog City (30 October) -- Students from Saint Vincent's College (SVC) in this city bested other contestants as they emerged as champion and first runner-up in the recently held Provincial Statistics Quiz (PSQ), respectively.
Jefferson Martinez of SVC got the highest score in the difficult round, making him the overall champion. He was followed by Leah Mariel Reyes of the same college. Jess D. Patangan of the Dipolog Medical Center Foundation, Inc. (DMCFI) also managed to get the third place.
The PSQ was participated in by 15 first year college students from Andres Bonifacio College (ABC), Dipolog Medical Center Foundation, Inc. (DMCFI), Jose Rizal Memorial State College (JRMSC)-Dipolog, Jose Rizal Memorial State College (JRMSC)-Katipunan, Rizal Memorial Institute (RMI) and Saint Vincent's College (SVC).
The champion together with the second and third placers will represent the province in the regional statistics quiz which will be held in Zamboanga City next month.
The statistics quiz for first year college students is conducted yearly highlighting the National Statistics Month (NSM), which is celebrated every October.
In Zamboanga del Norte, the 2009 NSM provincial steering committee was chaired by Col. Roland C. Amarille, battalion commander of the Philippine Army's 101st Infantry Brigade based in Del Pilar, Piņan this province. (PIA-ZN) [top]
