2nd batch NARS trainees in North Cotabato undergo general orientation

Koronadal City (30 October) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 conducted a 2-day general orientation for the second batch of Nurses Assigned in Rural Service (NARS) last October 15-16, 2009 at Sportswood Methodist Training Center in Kidapawan City.

The orientation aimed to familiarize the 85 nurse-trainees who attended the orientation on the projectís concept and review them on nursing and health care services in hospitals, rural health units, and school setting. It also served as the prelude to their actual exposure for six months.

DOLE 12 Regional Director Ma. Gloria Tango presented the overview and mechanics of the project while DOLE-North Cotabato Field Office (DOLE-NCFO) head Rosalita Escleto, being the head of the Project Management Team, together with representatives from the Department of Health 12, Philippine Nurses Association-North Cotabato Chapter, and the Provincial Health Office, served as the speakers and facilitators of the event.

RD Tango encouraged the trainees to finish the six months training and be true "warriors of wellness".

The nurses-trainees received their certificates of participation at the end of the orientation. (DOLE 12/Hannah/PIA 12) [top]
