Tagalog News: Sapat na supply ng bigas sa bansa tiniyak ng pamahalaan

Manila (30 October) -- Tiniyak ng pamahalaan sa mga mamamayan na may sapat na bigas sa bansa sa kabila ng patuloy na banta ng bagong bagyong Santi na maaring sumalanta sa Luzon.

Ayon kay Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap, walang dapat ikabahala ang publiko sapagkat may sapat na bigas ang bansa.

Ipinaliwanag ni Yap na sa 500 bodega ng bigas ng National Food Authority (NFA) sa buong bansa ay may bigas na makatutugon sa pangangailangan sa loob ng mahigit tatlumpong (30) araw.

Ayon pa kay Yap, bukod sa bigas na nabibili sa mga pamilihan, retailers, supermarkets at iba pang tindahan ng bigas, nag-aani rin sa Kabisayaan at Mindanao na hindi naman nasalanta ng Ondoy at Pepeng.

Binigyang diin ni Yap na sa kabuuan, mga 140 araw ang itatagal ng stocks ng bigas, at umangkat na rin ng bigas ang pamahalaan na inaasahang darating sa Enero hanggang Marso sa susunod na taon. (Lgtomas/PIA 12) [top]
