Literary contest marks Consumer Month celebration

Tabuk, Kalinga (31 October) -- Various high schools and colleges in the province joined in the literary tilt organized by the Consumer net in celebration of Consumer Month in October.
13 high school students showed their quiz bee prowess while four in the college division knocked each other in the extemporaneous speech.
Aaron Gibong of KASC Laboratory High School won first place in the quiz bee, Lizel Say-ay of Agbannawag National High School, second place and Mary Ann Ballouan of STS-Tabuk, third.
In the extemporaneous speech,the Best Speaker went to Abegail Hernaez of St. Louis College, Bulanao. Aquino Gonayon of Kalinga Apayao State College and Lanie Magalona of CIACT won second and third place, respectively.
Winners in both categories received cash prizes of P3,000; P2,000 and P1,000 for fist, second and third respectively. The Provincial Health Office and Bureau of Food and Drugs donated the prizes. They will participate in the regional competition next month in Baguio City.
The contest centered on this year's theme : Generic Drugs: Gawang Pinoy, Galing Pinoy: Tangkilikin Natin", which capsulizes government's advocacy on the use of generic drugs. (PIA-Kalinga) [top]
