Ifugao launches 7 more barangay bagsakan centers

Lagawe, Ifugao (31 October) -- The Provincial Agriculture Environment and Natural Resources Office (PAENRO) launched additional seven Barangay Bagsakan to assist farmers market their farm products.
Ruth Bogbog of PAENRO said that seven barangays in the province were evaluated thus are ready for implementation of the said program. The seven barangay bagsakan are Asipulo Multi-purpose Cooperative; North Star RIC (Rural Improvement Club) in Lagawe, Mungayang RIC in Kiangan; Maggok Barangay Council in Hungduan; Cambulo Barangay Council in Banaue; Hungduan employees Cooperative and O-ong Senior citizens in Hingyon.
In line with the hunger mitigation of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, the project seeks to assist also other small business enterprises market their locally produced products in the barangay.
"They will buy other goods outside to be sold at a lower price at the local market being established, Bogbog said. She informed that there are already six existing BBCs thus the province has now a total of 13 BBCs.
Bogbog disclosed that a total of P200,000.00 worth of equipment and goods such as NFA rice are given to each BBC. (PIA-Ifugao) [top]
