150 undergo DTI livelihood trainings

Bontoc, Mt. Province (31 October) -- Some 150 participants attended free livelihood training programs conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry here.

Based on the data provided by DTI provincial office, of the total participants, 43 attended a three-day training on silkscreen printing; 48 on commercial baking, 30 on stuffed toy making 14 on abaca macramé basket weaving, 10 on bag sewing, and five on BEST(Business Expense Saving Training) Game.

These skill training programs initiated by DTI is part of the agency's Comprehensive Livelihood Emergency Employment Program (CLEEP) project, which aims to inspire and encourage displaced workers and unemployed persons to engage in their businesses and learn different skills and crafts amid the global financial crisis.

The Department of Trade and Industry allocated a total amount of P74,750.00 for the conduct of the six skill training programs. (PIA MP) [top]
