Mindanao schools gird for Friendship Games

Davao City (17 Feb.) -- The Mindanao Association of State Colleges and Universities Foundation (MASCUF) will hold the third and final leg of its Friendship Games with the theme "Unity, Peace and Progress in Mindanao through Sports and socio-cultural activities" on February 17-20, 2004 at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP), Obrero, Davao City.

The four-day activity will be hosted by the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP), showcasing the talents of students from the Mindanao's state colleges and universities: Basilan State College, J.H. Cerilles State College, Jose Rizal Memorial State College, Western Mindanao State University, Zamboanga City State Polytechnic College, and Zamboanga State College of Marine Science and Technology of Region IX, Bukidnon State State College, Camiguin Polytechnic State College, Central Mindanao University, Mindanao Polytechnic State College Misamis Oriental State College of Agriculture and Technology, and Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology of Region X, Davao del Norte State College, Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology, Southern Philippines Agri-Business, Marine and Aquatic School of Technology, and USeP, Cotabato Foundation College of Science and Technology, Cotabato City State Polytechnic College, and University of Southern Mindanao in Region XII, Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology, Northern Mindanao State Institute of Science and Technology, Surigao del Sur Polytechnic State College, and Surigao State College of Technology of Region XIII, Sulu State College, Tawi-tawi Regional Agricultural College, and Adiong Memorial Polytechnic State College of Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

A motorcade is scheduled at February 17 at 1:00 p.m., to be followed by an opening program at the USeP grounds. On February 18 at 2:00 p.m., there will be a colorful parade of colors and ethnic presentation at Victoria Plaza Department store, Bajada. The Maria Clara competition is set on February 19 at 3:00 p.m. at the same venue. The awarding ceremonies are scheduled for February 20. (USEP/PIA/etisidro) [top]
